Ok… enough of blah blah… and getting back to work.

Previously I wrote a post FAPTurbo vs REMExpert and I compared how both these performed in comparison with each other. I also did mentioned that I would want to continue the testing for a few more weeks.

As of today… I think this will be the end of this comparison. I need to free up more resources to test new EA.

Previously my conclusion was ‘REMExpert manage to pull in 253.4 pips with 36 trades taken while FAPTurbo manage to pull in 156.3pips with 27 trades taken.’ between 16 April 2009 to 29 April 2009.

So now the testing continues from 4 May 2009 to 15 May 2009, ok ten days of trade. But results seem to have been tipped.  In that period, FAPTurbo manage to pull in 208.7pips with 40 trades and REMExpert pull in 130.1 pips with 30 trade.

So in total from (16 April 2009 – 29 April 2009; 4 May 2009 – 15 May 2009)

FAPTurbo got 365.0 pips over 67 trades
REMExpert got  383.5 pips over 66 trades

I leave that to your own conclusion. Bare in mind the only currency that was not used was USDCHF.

Now like before I had a few different EA trades running along in this account. So I extracted the necessary information into an excel sheet

Here is my MT4 Statement and the excel sheet.

  1. Alpari Demo Statement (4 May 2009 to 15 May 2009)
  2. Alpari Live Statement (4 May 2009 to 15 May 2009)
  3. Excel sheet of extracted trades between FAPTurbo and REMExpert for comparison purpose

Now it is interesting to note that on a demo account. FAPT and REM works very well in harmony. My balance was like 280 bucks… for the period between 4 May 2009 to 15 May 2009.

However it is a different story all together with my two live account. One is Alpari UK and the other is FXOpen.

Within my excel sheet you can also see I have extracted trades between FAPTurbo and REMExpert for both these two live accounts.

And the result is very very very very very disappointing. I mean for my Alpari account that is

In my Alpari account for the same period betwee 4 May 2009 to 15 May 2009.

FAPTurbo got 109.6 pips over 42 trades
REMExpert got  -113.6 pips over 35 trades! -113.6!!!!

And on my FXOpen account 12 May 2009 to 15 May 2009

FAPTurbo got 2.0 pips over 13 trades
REMExpert got  18 pips over 25 trades

FXOpen Statement (12 May 2009 to 15 May 2009)

Also I need to put another note here. My Live account should not be an apple to apple comparison to my demo account. Reason is for my live account. FAPTurbo only trades EURGBP, EURCHF and USDCAD while REMExpert trades the full five pair EURGBP, EURCHF, USDCAD, GBPCHF and also USDCHF.

However… you will also find that what trades taken on my demo account on particular currencies don’t always match my live account. Time and order wise.

So while it is not a good comparison between my live and my demo account. The conclusion that might hold true is that the data feed between demo and live account is totally different. How can my my REMExpert take lower trade than FAPTurbo when REMExpert trades more currency pair then FAPTurbo?

On my demo account, FAPTurbo and REMExpert and taking almost the same amount of trades….

Another speculation was, the guy who forwarded to me, gave his copy for a programmer to look into detail the REM codes and he highlighted that REM has a small little problem in it’s programming. He said that some of REM trade at times is not complete. I don’t know what that means… but I don’t think I will have the time to find out.

Conclusion is up to everyone come up with here but here is mine. For me, Demo looks nice… Live looks bad.

I have shown that REMExpert is using FAPTurbo as it’s base EA (Dumb Way to Reverse ). I also have noted in that post that REMExpert COULD BE an improvement to FAPTurbo (Reverse the Reverse ) because of an additional currency pair that it could take. I also note that REMExpert does not uses a maximum spread settings which cause it to take trades on GBPCHF, while FAPTurbo rarely trades GBPCHF due to high spread.

You will note however, that at times the only similar trades that REMExpert and FAPTurbo takes is EURGBP. Go figure…

Is there a clear winner? Well… I can’t say yes or no. It is a clear winning only  if it puts money into my account. And so far FAPTurbo is doing a better job then REMExpert.

I however would like to take or exploit these differences in REMExpert to hopefully boost my earnings and minimize my losses from REMExpert.

For for next week this is the adjustment I am going to take or make:

FAPTurbo will trade only EURGBP, EURCHF and USDCAD
REMExpert will trade only GBPCHF and USDCHF

So we will see if there will be any improvement come end of this month

Note: I actually have another EA at work XtremeEURGBP and recently added XtremeEURCHF.
