I believe it is time to pay due respect to this EA…

Cyborg EA… what can I say. This is a new EA which has been very profitable for me. I have never given it enough hype eventhough I do mention it on my performance update… Come to think of it I have never tag this EA or have I?

Hmmm…

Anyway… this is an excellent EA. This is one of the EA which was forwarded to me… bless his soul. It is license… so I did my usual decomp magic and start using it.

And to date… or as of this writing… this is the result

I actually started this live test since 6/4/09. Never really bothered about it because I was so focus on Firebird Driven. Plus!!! Martingale type of strategy does not appeal to me.

So since my test, began in 6/4/09 till now, I have earned 55.44… wow.. 10% against my equity of 500… not bad…

Ok… last month. I was trading at 0.01 lots. So my yield was peanuts. It was only this month that I have actually increase it due to my change in settings. I now use the build in Money Management and set the trade size percent to 2%.

Martingale really scares me. But if I trust the calculation of the Robot… risking 2% would mean at 500 bucks I should only be allowed to lose 10 bucks per round. So far it seems to be alright… I have never come across it hitting it’s full stop loss or even my $10 stop. Hopefully not. And I do also hope that it will only be 10 bucks per round.

I am still trying to learn and figure out the working of this EA and the Martingale system that is uses… That is my only worry. I have been playing roulette with Martingale system long enough to know the consequences when using such a strategy. I believe it is no different here.

But this is what he explain in the forum Pipcop, which I am still trying to understand…

The Cyborg only uses a maximum of 2 limit orders using Strategy #3

Strategy #1 uses only 1 limit order and a SL of 100 pips.

True Martingales keep doubling down until in profit. Not Cyborg. It chooses its direction and only places 1 or 2 limit orders maximum to take advantage of the drawdown and also modifies the TP and SL so the trade can be exited earlier than the original TP of the primary order , and always back in the same direction of the trend as dtected by its internal indicators. If you go to the eu4x.com website you can see better how Strategy #1 works. With a TP of 30 and emergency SL of 100 pips it works quite well .

Also, most martingales typically place a long and short position at the same time and wait for retracements which can be a big problem as you know.

Also, the multiplier can be set to a value less than 2.

Anyway, it seems Cyborg EA uses the same strategy as Forex Funnel. The cool thing about Cyborg EA is that you can use it for three different currency without any problem. EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDJPY. Wherelse Forex Funnel only uses USDJPY.

Cyborg EA uses 5M timeframe, Forex Funnel uses 1H timeframe. Does it make a differences? You bet it does, smaller time frame means it can capture smaller pips movement better. When a Martingale system… you better take your winnings ASAP.

The author of Cyborg EA also do manually test the settings and found the best settings to use. Now you don’t really find a lot of EA authors who does this… keeps improving on the settings. Support seems to be good as he does have presents on some forums. And also recently his EA has been requested by Pipcop.com to be tested out.

Well… this is my first encounter with Martingale system apart from Forex Funnel. Forex Funnel advice that you need at least $2,500 to trade 0.01 lot….Man… that is a lot of money. So what do I do… obviously I listen to them. And chuck this EA in my ‘Archive’ folder. I mean hey… I do not have enough money just to bet on one EA alone.

Only time will tell if Cyborg EA is going to prove far better than Forex Funnel in the Martingale category. So far… after a month and I must say… This EA have been taking one to two trades a day… with all three currency pair. And coming out a NET winner. :) Don’t you just love it when you are always winning? *fingers cross*
