Well, let me take the time to write up about this wonderful EA… I googled this and could not find it anywhere but in a forum. Apparently it was made by a guy (don’t know who) and he shared it with the forum community. After many discussion it somehow or rather evolve itself. Many EA seems to be using and improving this EA.

I am not in the technical know how to fully understand the potential of this EA and why is it so talked about. Forex Maestro seems to be using FireBird EA as it’s basis. The author has somehow manage to improve on it and resell it for a cool $197 a pop.

*I would make a lot of money if I knew programing*

Anyway… the point I want to share is this. After reading, browsing and skipping thread after thread in the forum and trying to understand what this EA is all about, I stumble upon this very interesting post. It was a post by a user ‘SamuraiPower’ in ForexFactory.com forum here (Post #2090). So what I did was I used Don’s template to identify the trend and then ‘Drive’ the EA as per what SamuraiPower suggested.

New Profitable Firebird setting (150 pips a day??? try it n give a feedback)
Hi guys,

This is my first post on FF, although I’ve been lurking on FF forum for about a year, I see that this thread is freezing, so I just wanted to share my thought hoping for good feedbacks from all you guys. So here’s my thought,

I’m busy doing my job since I’m an employee, so I wanted to have a minimum control of my chart, I just want a daily control, secondly there is no EA that works forever since the market is changing overtime so I have to “drive” the EA manually ( set the EA “Long only” or “Short only”), I’ll show you how.

1. Put the EA on 5 Min chart
2. Put the template and indicator on your daily chart

How to start and “drive” the EA
1. See the trend on daily chart just like the pic below,
2. When you see the trend down on daily chart, “Drive” the EA “Short only” on your 5 min chart, and vice versa
3. When you see the trend is changing on daily chart then you have to “drive” your EA on 5 min chart accordingly

Maybe theres a question, if you see the trend is clear so why you have to use this EA? My experience is that this EA can catch pips more than the market pip range , for example from January 1st Jan to January 7th the price move down for 500 pips, then this EA can catch more than 500 pips from the price retracement, just try this EA on back test for 1 month on Aug 2008 you will see that.

Less stress because you don’t trade news and not sit in front of your computer for a long time, just check it once a day.

I used GBPUSD and EURUSD or you can try another pair, just look for the pair that shows a clear trend in mid or long term

Default setting for the EA is set to 5 digit broker platform, you can change it, and also the TP and pipstep as you feel comfort.

I know there’s gotta be a negative side from this “EA drive” thing, I know some but I prefer to hear the feedback from you guys.

English is not my default language, so…sory for my bad English.

So, I manage to test it out LIVE on my IBFX account. And what do you know… 750 pip profit on a 0.01 mini account… :) Not bad huh…

Well, I have not been testing it over the past few days because I was away on holiday. But will continue to monitor and apply it next week.

I was so confident with this EA, I also applied it on my MasterForex account. But did a boo boo which cost me 10 bucks!! gees…

Oh well… let’s be more careful this time.

Mind you this is what he calls it a semi auto EA…. You will need to ‘drive’ the EA according to the trend.

Here is a new thread which he created specially for this Firebird EA (Semi Auto) Driven Strategy .

I am also planning to ‘DRIVE’ Don’s EA. Having got tired of loses after loses with his system. I think I will need to take more control over it.

As of today, I am driving Don’s EA and see how it pans out. Hopefully with small drawdowns and profitability inproves. Also I am running this Semi Auto Firebird in parallel with Don’s EA.

I have also uploaded the files on my download page if you also want to try this out.

Here is my personal shout out in the forum with regards to my profits with this system.
